Minju Yeo/ Reaction Essay/ Tue1,2

Looking at the two different pictures of children, "Village School", and "Children's Puppet Theatre", I could feel their pureness. They express their feelings without hiding.

In the first picture, "Village School", the overall atmosphere is quite calm and a little bit dark. The picture is taken in a dark careful room. Children in the picture are all staring at the camera. It seems like they've never seen a camera before, and they don't know what to do when they're taken this photo. Some children are staring at the camera and some are staring at the other areas. But they are all very rock-faced.

In the second picture, "Children's Puppet Theatre", the overall atmosphere is quite bright. It looks like some children are shouting and some are surprised. They are all bunched together so we can't see all of their faces, but we can feel their excitement.

The similarities between these photos are apparently they're both the picture of children. Although the atmosphere of the two pictures is quite opposite, both the pictures make us feel their innocent mind. The children in the two photos look like the same age, somewhat between 7 or 8 years old.

The first photo shows dark atmosphere and the second photo shows excitement. They both show the pureness of children, although the atmosphere is different.

  1. From Seonyoung Hwang to Minju Yeo

    1. Does the introduction include an interesting hook? Unfortunately, the writer cut to the chase and talked about the two photos from the beginning. It'd be more attracting if an interesting hook was used.

    2. Does the introduction include the titles of photographs and the names of the photographers? Yes.

    3. Did the writer use any of the photographic terms? atmosphere(mood)

    4. Did the writer anaylze the message of each photograph? I'm not sure if there was any analysis.

    5. Does paragraph 4 explain the similarities and differences between the two photographs? I only read similarities but differences.

    6. Any similes the writer used: " It seems like they've never seen a camera before,",

    7. Does the conclusion evaluate the effects of the photographs? I'm not sure if she evaluated the effects of the pictures. She mentioned contrast and similarity about the photos though.

  2. Your writting is interesting but I just wonder your writting is a bit short. For example, your concluding paragraph are only consist of two sentence. Your introducing paragraph are only consist of also two sentence. You have to write more although there are no writting limit, it isn't looking well. Your main idea was good. I like the sentence you wrote 'somewhat between 7 or 8 years old'. Write more and It would be a good writing.
